Talking Country Building Bridges has evolved from expressions of interest by Mapleton residents for opportunities to learn about the indigenous culture of this region, to a broader examination of local and Queensland history with a focus on the interface of First Nations history and culture with the early settlers in this region.
Join us in the Green Room for an evening of discussion and shared knowledge. The bar will be open, tea and coffee will be served, as well as some cheese and crackers (the restaurant will be closed). Come early to purchase drinks and chat. Tony’s selected readings for this event are focused on Libby Connors work on the Aboriginal leader Dundalli and South East Queensland’s social conditions of the late 1850s, particularly the fear of attack from Aboriginal groups.
